Italic
A slanted, often hand-drawn-looking version of a font.
Italic is a separate style of a font that leans to the right and often has a more flowing, hand-written character. It is not just slanted — true italics are designed from scratch with different letter shapes.
Italics are used for emphasis, titles of works, foreign words, and quotations. Use them sparingly; a paragraph full of italics is harder to read than one with a single italicized phrase.
