About
A learning base
for African tech.
Jambo is a product studio in Arusha, Tanzania, building the next generation of African tech. We work with startups and core sectors like agriculture and finance to turn real-world needs into practical, scalable digital products.
Learn exists because that mission needs shared language. It gives our designer trainees a clear foundation for UI design before they move into production work, and keeps the same material open for anyone learning the craft.
Each term has a short definition in plain English, a simple SVG diagram, and links to related ideas. The whole thing is meant to be skim-friendly and beginner-friendly: short sentences, clear visuals, no jargon without explanation.
How to use it
- · Browse by category in the sidebar (or the drawer on mobile)
- · Search with ⌘K — matches names, aliases, and words from definitions
- · Click related terms at the bottom of any page to follow a learning thread
Behind the diagrams
Every term has a hand-drawn SVG illustration, deliberately language-neutral with no embedded text — so the dictionary can be translated into Swahili, French, or any other language without redrawing. The visual style is locked: 2px strokes, restrained warm palette, simple shapes.
Why this matters
Jambo's bigger vision is to make technology a practical equalizer: something local teams can use to build better services, stronger businesses, and more inclusive opportunities. Learn is a small part of that system — a reusable training layer for the people who will design and build those tools.
