Value
How light or dark a color is.
Value is the brightness of a color. A high-value color is close to white. A low-value color is close to black. Two colors with the same hue can have very different values.
Value is the most important tool for hierarchy and readability. If two colors have the same value, they will blur together when you squint at them — even if their hues are different.
