Timeline

A vertical or horizontal line showing events in order.

A timeline is a line of dots or markers, each tied to a moment in time. Activity logs, order tracking, and history pages use timelines because they make sequence obvious.

Make the most recent event easy to find — at the top for vertical timelines, at the right for horizontal ones. Group dense events when there are too many; otherwise the line becomes a forest.
