Kanban board

A board with columns that show items moving through stages.

A kanban board is a horizontal series of columns — typically To Do, In Progress, Done — with cards that the user drags between them. The position of a card shows what stage it is in.

Originally from manufacturing, kanban became popular for project tools (Trello, Jira). Limit the number of cards in each column to keep work-in-progress under control. Too many columns and the screen becomes unreadable.
