A stepper shows where the user is in a multi-step process — checkout, signup, onboarding. Each step is a labeled circle, with completed ones filled, the current one highlighted, and upcoming ones empty.
Steppers reduce anxiety in long flows by showing how much is left. Make labels short and let users tap completed steps to go back if the flow allows.
