Skeleton

A placeholder shape shown while content loads.

A skeleton is a gray, animated outline of the content that has not arrived yet — a fake card, a blurred line of text. It signals "something is on its way" without making the user stare at a blank page.

Skeletons feel faster than spinners because they show the shape of what is coming. The user brain starts pre-processing the layout, so when real content lands, it slots in naturally.
