Font weight

How thick or thin the strokes of a letter are.

Font weight describes how heavy a letter looks. Common weights are 300 (light), 400 (regular), 500 (medium), 600 (semibold), and 700 (bold).

Weight is one of the strongest tools for hierarchy. A bold heading next to regular body text creates instant visual order without needing a bigger size.
