Mega menu
A large multi-column dropdown showing many options at once.
A mega menu is what happens when a regular dropdown would not be enough. Hover or click on a top-level item, and a wide panel opens showing categories, sub-links, images, even featured promotions.
Common on e-commerce sites with deep catalogs. Group items clearly with headings, and avoid stuffing the menu with everything — a mega menu of 100 links is harder to use than three smaller menus.
Use a mega menu when the navbar has too many links to stay readable on desktop. Keep the top bar short, then group the extra destinations into clear columns or move low-priority links to the footer.
