Saturation
How vivid or dull a color looks.
Saturation tells you how strong a color is. A fully saturated color looks pure and bold. A low-saturation version of the same color looks soft and grayish.
Most interfaces use medium saturation for backgrounds and high saturation for things that need attention, like buttons. All-high saturation everywhere feels loud and tiring.
