Badge
A small visual marker on or near another element.
A badge is a tiny highlight — a colored pill or dot — that adds status or a count to something else. The "12" on a notification icon is a badge. So is the "New" tag on a feature.
Badges are great for catching the eye, but they lose meaning if every element gets one. Reserve them for things that are actually new, important, or actionable.
