Gradient

A smooth blend between two or more colors.

A gradient is a soft transition from one color to another. It adds depth and energy that a flat color cannot. You will see gradients in buttons, backgrounds, and large hero sections.

There are four common types. A linear gradient runs in a straight line. A radial gradient spreads from a center point outward. An angular gradient sweeps around a circle. A mesh gradient blends several colors in soft, organic spots.

Pick colors that sit close on the color wheel. Two distant colors leave a muddy gray or brown band in the middle, and the gradient looks heavy. Similar hues blend into a clean, natural transition.
