Vertical sections of a grid that hold content.
Columns are the vertical strips of a grid. A 3-column layout might show three article cards side by side. A 12-column grid offers more flexibility because content can span 4, 6, or 8 of them.
More columns means more layout options but also more decisions. Pick a column count that matches your content — too few feels rigid, too many feels noisy.
