Focus state

The visual ring shown on the element keyboard input is targeting.

When you tab through a page with a keyboard, one element at a time is "focused" — usually shown with a colored outline or ring. Focus tells you where the next keypress will go.

Designers sometimes hide focus rings because they look messy. That is a serious accessibility mistake. Without visible focus, keyboard and screen reader users get lost. Style the ring to match the brand, but always keep it visible.
