Hue
The base name of a color, like red or blue.
Hue is what makes a color a color. When you say "red," "blue," or "green," you are naming the hue. Every color you see starts with a hue.
On a color wheel, hue is the position around the circle. Two colors with the same hue can look very different — one might be lighter or duller — but they share the same family.
